Skunk Ape Festival stinks up Florida

The second annual Everglades Skunk Ape Festival attracted more than 100 believers and skeptics to a day of live music and food at the Trail Lakes Campground in Ochopee on Saturday.

Tales of South Florida’s skunk ape, a homegrown counterpart of Bigfoot in the Northwest, have circulated locally for decades.

The festivities began Friday night with live bands and about 75 people.

I just cracked up when I saw this on unsolved mysteries. Yeah, I saw alot of “skunk apes” They were paintball sniper wannabes. Back when I was near the everglades in Florida there were a bunch of those guys in ghillie suits trying to hide from our assaults. There have been a bunch of outlaw paintball fields setup around the everglades since the overhyped development pushes us out. You guys need to get out alot more and maybe ask the sniper a question about what he’s doing. Paintballers try to stay out of the general public, because they always tend to call the police stopping our game play.
